Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies
Today is World Nutella Day — a day dedicated to celebrating the absolutely divine delicious hazelnut-chocolate spread.
Swirls of that chocolatey goodness compliment the chocolate chips in these chewy cookies — not as good as licking Nutella directly from the spoon, but man is it close.
Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies
Yield: 2 dozen cookies
Ingredients:
2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 c butter, melted
2/3 c granulated sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 c Nutella
1 c chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
Cream the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer. Add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Slowly add the flour mixture to the batter, mixing well after each addition.
Add the Nutella and mix briefly, swirling the Nutella throughout the dough.
Stir in the chocolate chips. Drop the dough by the tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the bottoms of the cookies have just started to turn brown.
Allow to cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheets, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

Enjoy!

I love Nutella! Besides eating it on a spoon (no double dipping of course) I also love to buy those little one hundred calorie snack packs of short bread cookies and make Nutella sandwich cookies and have them with a cup of tea. Another favorite: spread some Nutella on Pillsbury crescent rolls, wrap them up and bake in the oven. I will be sure to eat some Nutella today to celebrate :)

Your cookies look fantastic! Good luck with the competition.

woooooow. *wipes drool off chin* I've never done anything too fancy with Nutella. I love the occasional Nutella and Peanut Butter sammy. I also love to spread Nutella on pancakes…mmmm….

Where did "World Nutella Day" come from? I guess if it has it's own day, then I really need to try it. I have no idea what it tastes like, but I bet these cookies are delicious!

I love Nutella and will definitely try these cookies.

One super easy snack/dessert I make is to spread a thin layer of Nutella over a flour tortilla – I use whole wheat – put a peeled banana at one side and roll it up. It’s pretty nutritious and really yummy!

Boy! And here I thought I was the only one that loved Nutella.
I place a bit of peanut butter on a spoon and the dip it in my Nutella. What a treat. Ofcourse just having a spoonful is satisfying too. I must try these cookies. Yum !
